Why Professional Furniture Cleaning Matters

Couches and other upholstery can become a haven for dirt buildup.

Upholstery filters the air in your home, trapping dust, dirt, allergens, and grime in its fabric. While that's great for improving your home's air quality, it isn't great for the furniture, as it speeds up how quickly the fabric wears down, dulls the fabric's appearance, makes it crunchy and stiff, and overall makes it far less enjoyable to sit on.

Deep cleaning furniture is important for improving your upholstery's longevity as it removes all the crud trapped in its fibers. And, of course, a deep cleaning helps to restore its appearance and softness.

While you can find many do-it-yourself DIY upholstery cleaning products, methods, tools, or suggestions online, it is usually safer, quicker, and more effective to use a professional cleaning service like Zerorez.

Why Use Zerorez for Professional Upholstery Cleaning

Zerorez has professional upholstery tools, cleaning products, and upholstery cleaning knowledge. We clean better and faster than DIY methods, and without the use of dirt-attracting soaps and detergents.

Zerorez is unique in that we clean furniture without any harsh chemicals! Our Zr Process® applies our heated non-toxic Zr Water® at a pressure appropriate for your furniture which loosens stuck-on and embedded dirt. We then extract that dirt, oil, and grime from your upholstery, thoroughly cleaning your couches, chairs, and other upholstered furniture, removing stains, and preventing them from reappearing.

Our method is safe for people, pets, and the planet. You won't breathe in nasty chemicals when you lie down on your couch or sofa. A professional upholstery cleaning with Zerorez safely and effectively refreshes and revitalizes your furniture.

The Zerorez® Professional Upholstery Cleaning Process

Step 1
Inspection

We identify the type of fabric on your upholstered furniture, inspect its general condition, do a dye bleed test (colorfast test), and determine if it can be cleaned without damage. If we clean it, we'll proceed to step 2.

Step 2
Pre-Treatment

After doing a quick vacuuming, we apply a specially engineered pre-treatment upholstery cleaning spray to your furniture and agitate it with a horse hair brush. This helps breaks down the dirt and grime deeply embedded in the fabric.

Step 3
Rinse, Extract & Dry

With the upholstery cleaning tool, we apply Zr Water® at a low-pressure, further loosening embedded dirt and thoroughly rinsing the upholstery fabric, sucking suck it away with our powerful trunk mount system. We then groom the fabric pile appropriately so the nap dries correctly.

Step 4
Fiber Protection*

Applying our premium fiber protector on your upholstery prolongs the life of your furniture, minimizes spots from future spills, and keeps your furniture cleaner, longer.

*This is an optional, additional service.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you professionally clean a fabric couch?

Couches and other upholstered furniture should be vacuumed regularly to remove dirt and debris, and any spills or messes should be wiped up and blotted as soon as possible after they happen.

However, it is generally recommended that couches are professionally cleaned every 6 months. But, there are several factors that go into how often you should deep clean your couch such as its color, how often you use the couch, spills, stains, and accidents on it, your sensitivity to allergens, and if you have pets. Regular couch cleaning helps prolong the life of your furniture.

What does professional upholstery cleaning include?

Professional upholstery cleaning usually includes cleaning the sides, backs, cushions, and included pillows on the upholstered furniture. Each included part of the furniture will be inspected, vacuumed, pre-treated (if needed), rinsed with Zr Water®, extracted, and dried.

We may not always clean the "the decking," which is the fabric that seat cushions of sofas rest on, as this increases dry time, can cause dye bleeding onto the cushions, water spots, and a weakening of the fabric.

We can also spray the fabric with our premium fiber protector after it's cleaned, as an additional service.

How much does a professional couch cleaning cost?

Pricing for professional upholstery cleaning is usually based on size - either the number of seats, the length of the furniture, or a combination. Each Zerorez location sets their own prices for the cost of couch and other furniture cleaning. Please contact your local Zerorez to learn more. Locations periodically run special promotion and discounts on upholstery cleaning.

How long does upholstery take to dry after being professionally cleaned?

It depends a lot on the upholstery materials and its weave, but usually cleaned upholstery will dry in 6 hours or less. We work hard to ensure your upholstery dries quickly, often using a fan, and setting cushions in an inverted V pattern.

    Does Zerorez clean commercial upholstery?

Yes! Zerorez loves helping companies keep their workplaces clean, fresh, and comfortable for their employees, so we can clean office furniture, sofas, chairs, cubicles, and wall partitions. Learn more about our commercial services to find out more and the benefits of cleaning office furniture.
